When Maw Broon asked us to try her new table sauces, we couldn’t refuse… I mean it’s from Maw’s kitchen don’t you ken?!
And what better way to taste these sauces than on a Morton’s roll with square sausage and a tattie scone – we hope Maw Broon would’ve approved.
Tasting done and guess what, we won’t be going back to HP for our ‘broon’ sauce, oh no. This delicately spicy little number hits the mark and is perfect for the Scottish morning roll!
Winning a share of the Tomato Sauce market could be difficult when you are competing with the almighty Heinz, but this tangy tomato ketchup packs a mighty punch. ‘Heinz schmienz’… we’ll be dolloping this maw’s tomato sauce on our chips too next time.
Maw Broon’s sauces are only prepared in small batches, from the very best ingredients and she’s only just recently started selling her tasty table sauces direct to consumers. So to get your hands on these saucy numbers check out their Facebook page for details. You can also get your tastebuds round them at a few (but growing) number of eateries in the city – Burger Meats Bun being one of them!
Maw you’ve done a braw job on these condiments and we don’t mind telling you, keep up the good work in the kitchen and we look forward to hearing more about these ‘boozy’ sauces you’re working on… only for the ‘big yins’!
